  1.                    TeX data base for WWW
  2.  
  3. We have a database containing information about TeX and related issues.
  4. The database is built so that it can easily be accessed via 
  5.      WWW  --  WorldWideWeb  -- 
  6. a public domain interactive line browser. It is meant to be used
  7. by both new and advanced TeX users.
  8.  
  9. Files within the database have been and are being copied (and modified) 
  10. from information lists pertaining to TeX; others have been written here.
  11. Files are constantly being updated and added.
  12.  
  13. Apart from general information pertaining to TeX, the database includes
  14. information pertaining to Hebrew TeX. This can, of course, be skipped
  15. by those who are not interested in the subject.

  17. To use the TeX data base, you can telnet onto vms.huji.ac.il  
  18. (currently 128.139.4.3) with the username  WWW
  19.  
  20. Once you are within WWW, choose the entry 
  21.    "Computation Center Information"  [7]
  22. by typing   7   <return>
  23.  
  24. in the next menu, choose
  25.    "TeX News and Info"   [5]
  26. by typing   5   <return>
  27.  
  28. All the files contained in the TeX database can be retrieved via
  29. anonymous ftp from noa.huji.ac.il [132.64.254.10]   in  tex/www
  30. The file   top.html   is the top of the information.:

  32. Note: Our server is still running is the old port, not port 80.
